Definition
A venture capital firm that's functionally dead but still managing old funds, unable to raise new capital but too undead to fully shut down. They're not investing in new companies but still collecting management fees from their limited partners.
Example Usage
That zombie VC from 2009 is still sending quarterly reports despite not making a new investment since Obama's first term.
Origin
Derived from 'zombie startup,' applied to underperforming VC firms
Fun Fact
Zombie VCs often maintain websites and social media presence to preserve the illusion of activity, hoping LPs won't notice they've been irrelevant for years.
