Definition
Euphemism for layoffs that implies the company was the 'wrong size' before, not that they're cutting costs. Because 'firing people' doesn't focus group well.
Example Usage
The CEO announced a rightsizing initiative, which is corporate speak for 'update your LinkedIn.'
Origin
Human resources euphemism from the 1980s downsizing era
Fun Fact
Companies are always 'rightsizing' to a smaller size, never larger, which tells you what 'right' really means.
