Definition
The vanity-driven muscle groups that people obsessively train because they're visible in gym mirrors—chest, biceps, abs—while neglecting everything else. The fitness equivalent of a movie set facade with nothing behind it.
Example Usage
Brad's been building those mirror muscles for years, but ask him to do a pull-up and he struggles like a fish on dry land.
Origin
Gym culture commentary on superficial training priorities, emerged in late 1990s-2000s
Fun Fact
Physical therapists call this 'anterior chain dominance' and it's a leading cause of poor posture and shoulder injuries.
