Inflammation of the iliotibial band causing knee pain, primarily afflicting runners who've angered the running gods. Feels like someone is stabbing the outside of your knee with an ice pick.
Example Usage
My IT band syndrome has me rolling on a foam cylinder like a rotisserie chicken, hoping for relief.
Origin
Medical condition identified in the 1970s, named after the iliotibial band that runs from hip to knee.
Fun Fact
