Definition

Whether an investor believes the founder is capable of building the company they're pitching—basically an investor betting on your charisma and work ethic rather than your idea.

Example Usage

Our investor said she was backing us because of 'founder fit,' which I think means she believes in us more than the product, raising concerning questions.

Venture capital assessment terminology from the 2010s.

Fun Fact

Many successful founders attribute their success to founder fit, conveniently ignoring how much their success was determined by timing and luck.
