Definition

A designated location where personnel or equipment are retrieved, typically by helicopter or vehicle, after completing a mission. The planned exit strategy that hopefully involves less gunfire than the entrance.

Example Usage

Primary extraction point is grid 234567 at 0300 hours—be there or enjoy a long walk home through hostile territory.

Fun Fact

Elite units rehearse extractions as intensively as the main mission because getting in is optional but getting out is mandatory if you want a sequel.
