Definition

Digging in so deep that the enemy has to physically remove you, both literally and figuratively. A defensive position that's fortified and reinforced for long-term resistance.

Example Usage

The enemy has achieved full entrenchment in the fortified positions, making assault costly.

Fun Fact

Well-entrenched forces have such a defensive advantage that it often takes 3-4 times as many attackers to dislodge them.
