Definition
An advanced training system rotating multiple variations of core lifts to develop strength through constant variety rather than linear progression. The Russian roulette of powerlifting programs.
Example Usage
My coach has me on the conjugate method, so every week I'm doing different squat variations—I haven't done the same exercise twice in a month.
Origin
Developed by Soviet sports scientist Yuri Verkhoshansky, popularized in America by Louie Simmons at Westside Barbell
Fun Fact
Westside Barbell has produced more elite powerlifters using the conjugate method than any other gym in history, though critics argue it's overkill for non-elite lifters.
