Definition
The term comes from the 1700s when America was in its infancy and people would commonly barter for goods. Deerskins were often referred to as bucks and eventually, when the USD rolled around, buck was applied to the dollar. Unfortunately no one knows for certain who first used buck to refer to a dollar.
